“Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds.” – Albert Einstein
Dear Fellow Warrior,
I hope this finds you well. There is so much I need to say to you.
But I have not been silent, as you would suspect. I hope to share some reflections with you soon.
But I wrote this piece to share with you for the moment:
The Rebellion of Being Hated: A Call for Courage
They hate you because you have the audacity to say something when others are quiet…
…to fill the depth of silence they are comfortable with.
They hate you because you dare to think “outside the box”…
…crafting ideas, insights, observations that could question their complacency.
They hate you because you express your original, unfiltered, unrepentant words…
…and do not hide behind the comfort of popular memes or borrowed voices…
They hate you because you will not conform, you dare to be different…
…standing courageously as you are, authentic, unmasked, raw, and unapologetically you…
They hate you because you dare to create…
…you bring into existence what they prefer to ignore, taking inspiration from places they are too frightened to visit.
They hate you because you are not afraid to face the opposition…
…the scrutiny, the consequences that come with “coloring outside the lines.”
They hate you because you do not fear speaking your truth…
They hate you because, as you speak truth to power…
…you are revealing the dangerous cracks within the foundations they assumed were secure.
They hate you because you bring something unique to the table…
… something no one else can, a new perspective, a challenge, a disrupting spark to their ease of mind.
They hate you because, in you, they see a relentless, resilient force with the potential for “greatness”…
…and it threatens their choice to settle for and surrender to mediocrity.
They hate you because you have a message…
…one that resonates and stirs a call to action for transcendent change.
Above all, they hate you because you have courage to share it with the world, to breathe life into it… …letting it explode into spaces out of their grasp of control.
…Your very existence, your persistence, your resistance, presents a challenge to their entire worldview.
And that is why, unless they step back, unless they choose humility and introspection, they will never stop hating you.

I came across this quote from James Baldwin today, which seems to connect to this piece:
“I imagine one of the reasons people cling to their hates so stubbornly is because they sense, once hate is gone, they will be forced to deal with pain.” – James Baldwin
