One Smile Could Save A Life…

Dear Fellow Warrior,

I wrote this below in a Facebook post last year today, and I thought to share this here, for the Chronicles… I have yet to share my 2022 Year End Reflections here and perhaps a separate post for the Prospects for 2023. But for now, I just want to share this. As it appears that my state of mental health had not changed since last year when I wrote this, or perhaps relapsed. It is okay… we fall, and we rise again. We keep trying. As long as we are moving, we will be okay…

So I just wanted to extend this note again, and here in this safe space where I practice my authenticity and writing with my true authentic voice…

You give yourself a time limit. And then one moment, one exchange, extends it…

You can hold on just a little longer.

You can get through the day and start again tomorrow…

It makes a huge difference when we care.

It makes a huge difference when we show that we care.

In the end it’s not about pity and sympathy.

It’s about that necessary human connection.

You stay away from people because you don’t want to burden anyone with your pain and suffering.

You tell yourself you’re strong enough to handle things on your own.

You somehow convince yourself that people do not enjoy or value your company.

You see others around you communicating and engaging with ‘normalcy,’ and wonder how you can be estranged from that normalcy, so easily, so rapidly, how can you be the only one… you are not, but in the broken GPS system in your mind, you are.

In the midst of it all, you forget your humanity.

It’s about reminding people of their humanity when they forget.

One smile could save a life.

A few words of kindness could save a life.

If you need proof than please look no further than yours truly.

Peace and Solidarity to all suffering during these challenging times, 🙏🏾✊🏿

We will get through this. And we will help others overcome this too…

Baby steps. Always. We got this…. Thank you for reading and giving my voice a chance.
