“Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves. And if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers.” – Surah Al-A’raf (7:23)
Dear Fellow Warrior,
Today is the most sacred day of the Islamic year… The best day of the year for the Muslim!
A day when Muslims around the world devote themselves to prayer, fasting, and deep worship… seeking forgiveness, mercy, and connection with Allah.
These are some of my prayers this year…
In addition to the one I wrote during Ramadan a couple of months ago, this is part of what I bring to our Creator on this Day of Arafah:
*******
Ya Allah, I love You, and I need You… please come into my heart.
Ya Allah, I love our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)… please bless him and take care of him.
Ya Allah… Ar-Rahman, Ar-Raheem...
Please help me forgive and show mercy to those who have harmed me…
Help me depend on no one but You… for both financial and moral support.
Make me truly independent… so I can focus on helping and serving others.
Please help me find stability… a job… and the opportunity to ultimately become a Professor.
Please remove the evil eyes that have followed me for years… protect me from those who wish me harm.
Soften my heart toward my brothers and sisters… despite the hurt, betrayal, and abandonment.
Help me stand on my own two feet… by Your strength alone.
Forgive me for needing love and support from others… if that need was wrong.
And forgive me if I need more time to forgive those who hurt me.
I am trying, and I will continue to keep trying. I hope you can forgive me as I continue to process the pain and let go, for Your sake.
Help me care for my parents… keep them happy, secure, and comfortable for the rest of their lives.
Forgive me for missing prayers… and for the times You weren’t in my heart or mind.
Increase me in knowledge… both of this dunya, this world and our Deen… so I may serve others, and pass what I learn to future generations.
Let me come to know You better… please help me memorize all Your beautiful names.
Help me fulfill my role as Your vicegerent on this Earth.
Please help me stay steadfast in my Islam, and please don’t let anyone take my Islam from me.
Strengthen me against the hate and bigotry that have made my path more difficult… because of who I am, in every part of my identity.
Take care of all my dear Muslim brothers and sisters around the world…
Help them all through our personal and collective challenges…
Forgive them for their shortcomings… and forgive me for mine.
Please Allah (swt), please ease the suffering of our dear brothers and sisters in Gaza and Palestine… in Sudan, Afghanistan, Kashmir, and everywhere in between…
Please accept the martyrs into paradise.
Accept my fast and my worship today…
Accept the worship and fasts of all my beloved brothers and sisters who are observing this day in Your honor.
Ya Allah (Subhana wa Ta’ala)… I love You. I need You. Please forgive me. Please come into my heart.

The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) once said:
“The best du’a is the du’a of Arafah. And the best thing that I and the Prophets before me have said is:
‘La ilaha illAllah, waḥdahu la sharika lah, lahu’l-mulku wa lahu’l-ḥamd, wa huwa ‘ala kulli shay’in qadir.’” – (Tirmidhi)
Translation: “There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, alone, without partner. To Him belongs the dominion, and to Him belongs all praise, and He has power over all things.”
Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La ilaha illa Allah, wa Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, wa Lillah il-hamd.
Thank you, fellow Warriors, for reading…
If you are observing today, may this Day of Arafah… and the blessed Day of Eid al-Adha tomorrow… bring you peace, healing, and divine closeness. Inshallah.
And to every Muslim brother and sister out there…
Let them cringe. Let them mock. Let them say whatever they want.
Never be afraid to declare your love for Allah (SWT) and the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), both in your heart and openly.
Wear your faith with dignity. Speak the “language of your soul” with courage.
Because loving them is not weakness… It is the most real kind of strength.
With heart and sincerity,
In Solidarity, Warm Salaams, Peace, and Blessings,
Your Sister, Dr. Elsa, Warrior Kqueen
