On Suicide Prevention Month

“This life. This night. Your story. Your pain. Your hope. It matters. All of it matters.”

— Jamie Tworkowski

Dear Fellow Warrior,

It is the end of National Suicide Prevention Month in America.

On October 19th, I will walk for the 10th year in the Out of the Darkness, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Community Walk in Washington, DC.

Here is my fundraiser this year, you can read my story there too.

Here is a brief piece I wrote on Medium and LinkedIn.

Solidarity with all struggling in these difficult times due to all internal and external challenges.

The scars may never disappear. Some wounds are never healed.

All your pain is valid. All of it was real. Your story, your truth, your life matters.

Even the most vulnerable moments. A critical part of your path to healing is owning your story.

Here is me owning mine.

Know that your voice matters.

This LinkedIn post is another reminder about having mercy and grace with others.

Please support Suicide Prevention.

Beyond poems, articles, paintings, walking, and fundraisers, much can be done to help someone you love who is struggling with Suicidality. Just please don’t let it be too late before you tell them that you love them. We all need support as human beings.

Some people in some cases need more reminders and that is not their fault, nor should they be labeled as needy or a burden.

Communication and education could do wonders to alleviate the suffering of your loved ones. This is how you can help prevent suicide.

Embrace the transformative power of these difficult conversations and help cure the stigma.

In Solidarity, Peace, Warmth, and Blessings,
Your Sister, Dr. Elsa, Warrior KQueen
